Unneccessary Over Complication

Karlo and I are hosting dinner for 13 people on Christmas Day. This shouldn't really pose that much of a problem. Our house is plenty big and given the fact that we practically have no walls, it should be easy to expand the dining area. We also just happen to already own two 6 foot banquet tables. What a cinch it would be to just turn our table sideways, insert a couple of leafs, and place one of the portable tables at the end. I have two matching table clothes and it would have been an instant table for 13. But no. Somebody had other ideas and apparently it was much smarter to buy plywood, nearly destroy our dining room table, and turn the dining room into a construction zone. The photo above shows the scene from last night with our living room chair being used to hold everything together while the glue dried. Yeah, that was easy!

I'm afraid to sit in the center seat... Is the plywood going to hold? That table looks like it would seat 20 not 13. Can't wait to see it Next Sat.
