Two Different Doctor's Offices

Uuugh. I'm still sick and it seems as though my cold has come to a halt. I fear that, like all my previous colds over the past several years, it will end with a sinus infection and a trip to the doctor. I dread having to see a doctor. Mostly because the whole process just irritates me. I don't like the fact that my general medicine doctor has zero regard for my time. The last time I made an appointment this office told me to 'come right in now.' I was shocked and delighted they were free just when I needed them. I arrived within 10 minutes to a completely packed waiting room, where I sat for nearly 2 hours waiting for the doctor. Are you kidding me? The nurse knew this was the current situation and still told me to come right in? I wanted to beat her silly. So this leads me to a cute email I got today that you might enjoy . . .

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an
appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn' t reviewed for another week. And finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then. Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever.
The SECOND is a Senior Citizen.

Next time take me to a vet!
