Having Fun On Our Day Off

Today was an officially scheduled vacation day for me. Karlo, however, called in sick. He deserved it after the 6+ hours of snow removal he did last night. He finally got his wish. He’s been itching to try out his new plow for weeks. He was in his glory last night. I was too. I was snuggled up under a blanket on the couch with both the wood stove and the propane fireplace going.

And today Karlo is still working. First he needed to finalize the perfection that is our driveway and deck. He takes great pride in his workmanship – remember the leaves and the lawn/deck? Well, the driveway is similar. Karlo, quick . . . some snow just fell off a branch. You better run out there quickly and clean the driveway!! Now he’s outside chopping wood.

We went for a exploratory ski this morning. The snow was actually too deep to really be able to cross country ski. It was more like a hike with skis strapped to our feet. A bit awkward, but still fun. The dogs came too and seemed to enjoy romping around in the snow. Something about the snow makes Peanut want to RUN. She’s so cute, but too fast to capture on film.

I did, however, capture some things on film this morning. Here’s a little video of our winter wonderland.

Beautiful...... Makes me think the kids should bring their ski's when they come to visit.
